One of our favourite singer-songwriters here at TMR is Manchester-based francis lung. He has an impressive ear for melody which is out in full force on his latest single, ‘the let down’. It’s a groovy tune filled with playful keyboards and cinematic arrangements. He isn’t afraid to chuck in an unexpected chord here and there, or a rhythmic jolt that really brings the funk. These are especially effective when they combine with what we’re seeing on screen, which is a music video parody of the Classic Albums series, where Lung and his producer (Brendan Williams) are shown looking back on the track. His upcoming second album, Miracle, is set to be released on June 18^th, 2021. -Dan Peeke
